TIME asked who you thought should be on the list of the 100 most influential people of the year. Over 200 candidates were given a rating of 1 to 100. And your #1 choice? Shigeru Miyamoto! The video game designer had almost 2 million votes, over 300,000 more than runner-up, Rain. After a tight race at the top, Stephen Colbert came in third place with close to 900,000 votes.

Every time you voted for someone, you got to choose 1-100 when you voted. For example, I voted 100 for Colbert and 1 for Rain. Because who the fuck is Rain? (yeah, I know who he is, but how is he in the least bit important?)

It's not based on total votes, it's based on where the voter ranks you. So if 5million people vote for you, but all vote for you to be 90-100 or so, you'll be lower than someone who gets 100 votes that are all top 10.

I think you meant if you're voted a lower number you'll get lower rank and if you average a higher number you get a higher rank? I think I'm reading your post backwards or you made a mistake while typing it.
