Default Evo2k8

So Evolution will be in Vegas again, and they're going to have brawl there (If you don't know, Evo is the largest fighting game tournament in the world). Anyone thinking of going? I don't think they've decided rules yet, still debating over items and stages on shoryuken.com, but I am considering it since my friend who plays Marvel vs Capcom 2 is possibly going this year (he was #7 overall in MvC2 in evo2k6, didn't attend evo2k7), and he's trying to pick up brawl too these days.

I'll put the money away to go, it'll give me a reason to go to vegas.

Is Evo2k8 confirmed for brawl or melee?

Confirmed for brawl. They are trying to setup their own rules without the "assistance" of SWF, because SRK people think SWF tournament rule deciders are elitist or whatever; but that doesn't necessarily mean that it might not end up with the same rules anyways.

SRK people tend to like default settings, and don't mind glitches or "cheap" moves as much, so it seems that they might be pro item (or at the very least, pro smash ball). Example: in MvC2, there are a few characters who can 100% you with an infinite if you happen to mess up and they catch you. Pretty much the only way you can escape is either don't screw up and get caught in one, or the person doing the infinite has to mess up somehow.

I personally don't care as much, although I do find the need to turn off certain items (exploding crate, assist trophies, food, maybe dragoon and a few others). But meh, still not certain if I'll go due to the fact that I will probably in the middle of relocating during the summer, but I'd like to!
