FFACE Warning - Future use banned from Windower

It just came to my attention about a recent update to FFACE. FFACE is now making a popup asking for donations you to subscribe DAILY EVERYTIME YOU OPEN AN FFACE PROGRAM, and now disabling the use of some features unless you donate subscribe. It's also now TRACKING A PIECE OF INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR ACCOUNT for this premium feature.

No, its an "assister" for other developers to use. If you use any 3rd party programs besides Windower, you should check for FFACE4.dll in their folders.

Many other developers used FFACE to do all the dirty work.

I can see why he would want to get some money for his time, but making a popup every day is just adware. Plus it is a slap in the face to devs like aikar who put in just as much if not a lot more for free.

RZN did some poking around and figured out a way to identify the current POL account. This is not your POL ID and can not be used to identify you or your account. This means we'll have a way of charging for access per POL account rather than per character. Hopefully this will put some of you at ease regarding the situation.

actually 100% serious. before yarnball was a plugin it existed as a standalone program, ragns information gathering DLL was called ffxicats.dll because he found the other ones to be "baka" and not big enough. ffxicats was actually instrumental in finding a lot of the memory locations that are currently used for parsers and some of the recast foundation. It was unencrypted for a while until a bulk of it was stolen uncredited then ragn started encrypting it. ffxicats was integrated into the yb plugin as well as the other plugins and programs ragn made. yarnlog, tickle, rebuff, yarnregex, msjans, kingcount, and an early alpha of autows

for those wanting to donate, as far as I know there's no global "Windower" donation, but there is a Donation box on Spellcast's main page that feeds Aikar's cats:
