A (spiritual I guess) Mortal Kombat without assloads of blood gushing about an brutal fatalities is just a waste. (I can respect DC wanting them to hold back on fatalities against *their* characters, but not to the point where it's ruining what the series once meant) |

MK1 wasn't good, but Mortal Kombat 2 and to an extent 3 were good games If you were a Capcom/SNK fan, you weren't an MK fan and vice-versa, that's how it usually was back in the mid-90's I was a huge MK2/KI fan, not a fan of the Capcom/SNK fighters

More like fans of style-over-substance vs substance-over-style.
Though, the style of Mortal Kombat is roughly on the same level as Street Fighter II: The Movie: The Game. EDIT: And not wanting it to be like the 90s doesn't mean I want the 00s Mortal Kombats either. EDIT 2: Well, Shaolin Monks wasn't THAT bad. Last edited by BRP; 11-02-2008 at 05:19 PM. |

It looked like a bad idea at the start, now removing things from the game to make it Teen rated makes it a big pass in my book. MK was all about beating your opponent into a bloody pulp before killing him/her in the goriest way possible. Next thing you know we'll see a nicer version of Scorpion, "PLEASE GET OVER HERE!!"

I miss the OLD MKs where you saw spines getting ripped out, heads getting smashed, getting pierced with spikes, dismember by a shark, or thrown into a gigantic metal fan. Wtf MK, wtf. We hardly knew ye.

Don't give them Ideas >_< Can picture Scorpion as an unlockable in some Midway golf game, where Scorpion slices his swing, and he just does "Get Over Here" hook, brings the ball back and retries |

A game's worth is judged by gore and blood. It probably will have broken, archaic gameplay and horrible design direction, but that doesn't matter as much a RIP AND TEAR. Hence why Mortal Kombat games are considered CLASSICS despite being some of the worst fighters on the market!
