Is there a way to do a 7/14 day trial for this game? I'm not sure if I need a key from someone who's bought it or what but I really want to try it out if possible, the PvP intrigues me the most
Anyway, I can't seem to find anything about it on their site so I'm wondering if there's something I'm missing or what

The mechanics are entirely different (and furthermore, the mechanics for each class are quite different from each other as well). |

I've been interested in trying this as well. I'll just wait until they offer free trials, I read about so many people that wasted their money on AoC. I don't make a lot, so $50 isn't something I'm willing to throw away.

My friend once told me that all games are really just a clone of Ultima Online (first MMO), that are just adding onto it. Guess who bought Ultima Online ages ago though? (even before DAoC) EA and gave it to the Mythic department. That makes me laugh whenever someone brings up the WoW comment. Also, most people who mention WoW I feel never played the game at launch. ONE NPC was responsible for crashing servers every 1-2 hours and it took them 4 MONTHS to fix it.

Don't forget that Molten Core was massively bugged and practically unplayable for quite some time, meaning there was really no major endgame raid.

For all intents and purposes it sounds like it's going to be a reversioned WoW with a PvP emphasis moreso than a PvE (I heartell you can actually level in PvP?)
Which sounds awesome to be honest, but I would like to know if the time commitment is relatively the same as WoW? I'm still waiting on WotLK but WAR does sound quite fun from everyone I've talked to that's played it for more than a day.

i played a little WoW, not a whole lot... lv20 retail, lv40 on wowgasm... just couldn't get into it for some reason.
i'm loving WAR, however. they fixed almost everything that sucked about WoW and other rpgs, and continue to make hotfixes every single day. you can either PvP or PvE and level at the same time, classes play way differently than one another... game had only been out for a couple weeks when they made a huge change that allows you to queue for any scenarios (PvP) you're eligible for from anywhere in the world, because they realized that's what people wanted. honestly, i have no complaints so far and it's the best 50 bucks I've spent this year. probably going to retire from FFXI permanently because of it. the only thing that chafes my ass is paying EA 15 bucks a month (i can't stand EA), but this game is worth it. |

Cept, in WAR it won't take time out of your leveling if you want to do bg's/world pvp etc. |

fair enough, what about things like endgame content (the equivalent of raids/dyna? i suppose) or some PvP, does that require relatively large investments (3-4 hours a sitting type deal) to get past noob equipment? or would it take something like a half decent raid schedule to get any sort of good equipment to keep up in pvp?

you can have "good enough" equipment simply from pvping a lot, the best comes from doing well, capturing keeps, and, of course, the big time city raids
tier 4 is essentially a tug-of-war across 5 zones for each pairing, so 15 total when your realm controls all 5 of those zones in a pairing you get to attack the enemy city, which opens up events in the attack ranging from completely solo do however much you want to full on raids attempting to defeat the king and take him back to your own city as prisoner, and, obviously, loot him ;p |
