Default Petrifying Attack

Can anyone tell me where to get petrifying attack besides the NM cockatrice and Qn'zdei? ffxiclopedia has it that sand lizards in kuftal give it, but after 100+ plates, I haven't gotten it yet, is that just bad luck?

I used one stack of HQ plates, but out of laziness I didn't change from my 40 whm to my 75 rdm, dunno if that had any effect on it. It did seem to cause more misses though.

Edit: went through again with 3 stacks of HQ plates, as 75, nuked and slept one @9% then took pics, still nothing also went through another 5 stacks of NQ i think and nothing.

HALP!

heres where I've found it so far on non-nm's:

Eo'Zdeis, Rams, Cockatrice.

It seems that a previos post some one else made about if the mob exhibits a TP move with the effect that mob will have that en-effect plate. With that said you'd think Lizards have it also, but I've never tried them

Which cockatrice did you get them off of? I tried the ones in Labyrinth of Onzozo, took 48 shots didn't get anything.

Got this off lizards, try the ones in the QSC, I send a lot of people there and they seem to have a pretty good success rate.

I dont think it matters if you nuke mobs for the sake of making it a pet. I've gotten most everything in the book but the new stuff and I just follow mobs until the stop moving, of if they aggro sleep photo till I'm done and warp out, never doing dmg. the DMG thing seems to be maybe ZNM only? at least I've never seen a dicernable difference.

Sweet I'll try it out. Thanx for the replies.

@ Graiza, tried the Ziz with 24 plates, no success, was scary too =p I think I just have bad luck with it.

Edit: Used another 60 plates, still nothing, I have really shitty luck with this, just gonna give up and get enthunder

I'm assuming you're not 75, but if you are Eo'Zdeis is best drop rate, if you have a BLM or RDM buddy to come and sleep it, they're easy for those jobs to sleep, and I've always gotten 1-3 petro plates from them per trip, along with some nice constilation prizes to sell (ice/shock spikes, paralyze attacks, and such). I photo'd Rams in meadows for ZNM and got 2 petro plates not even trying out of 2stacks of film, so I'd assume the low level ram will drop it also, just at a lesser rate, and those shouldn't be scary for you.

am 75, just no sea, I had sea on another character but it got hacked back and feb and SE sure is taking their time. I wanted to send a friend thru 8-3 since its a BC for the zdeis and you don't lose xp for dying but eh

I'll try out the rams in meadows though, luckily i'm 75 rdm so sleeping things isn't a problem

This is what i suggest you try doing. Find a buddy who has Sea and is RDM or BLM. Tell them to go to Grand Palace of Hu'Xzoi and take his first right turn. and go through the door. Now tell him to head straight and take the second alcove on his right, creep into the room slowly. There is a Eo'Zdei in there. You can stop in side the room just barely (the door is a little annoying). You friend can ES+Sleep(ga)II then run up to is and snap some photos (buff up first of course). HQ-camer/NQ-flim works fine. WHEN your buddy gets a petro plate he can just trade it to you. So no BC or anything like that, and the zone is in running distance when/if he gets scared. only thing in the area are Eo'Aerns, which ignore you unless you attack them, and they wont link with the Eo'Zdei. (its safe to snap two photos per sleep2 then wait for it to wake up before taking more photos, this is so you dont get stuck with frozen actions when it wakes up)

Got it from a ram! Thanx for the suggestions. The main person that I've been doing pankration with has sea but is mnk and pup 75, i could've asked other friends, but it's a lot to ask for someone not doing pankration too.
