Shantotto in Dissidia ENG: A Link to FFXI?

In the North American release of Dissidia, they added a few new cutscenes to the game. This set of cutscenes involving Shantotto proved to be a bit interesting:

Firstly, she rhymes like in the English version of FFXI (I remember some people hoping very hard they'd preserve her english rhyming dialogues). That's pretty awesome ;x not to mention her tendency to call people total losers, lol. Not to mention confusing names... I'm sure that she does in in a quest in FFXI somewhere as it seems a little familiar.

Secondly, she talks about a war she's won... maybe the Crystal War? Or something to do with her expansion, "A Shantotto Ascension"? Or it could just be

Thirdly, she talks about watching Cavernous Maws. It's implied that the way she got into the world of Dissidia was through one of the Cavernous Maws in FFXI. Perhaps in "A Shantotto's Accension", this scene will be implied? It's all very interesting.

I thought some people might be interested in this It's a fun little tidbit involving FFXI~

It would be clever and cool if it was all connected, but my guess is just that it was something they thought of to stand alone and wont be involved anywhere else

Quite nice, but knowing Shantotto she's just probably gloating more than anything, we all know she thinks she's surpreme and such. Also in Dissidia didn't all of the characters landed in that world via some device from their own game one way or another? (I can imagine Cloud landing there via the lifestream, etc)

I have to agree. Why the hell does she have a british voice of all things? It doesn't fit her at all.

Still think they could have picked someone far better. I believe Prishe was supposed to be the XI character at one point.

Surely you know that was the Crystal War, the war where Shantotto settled her score.
The Dynamis Lord's minions were no match, for the plan that Shantotto was about to hatch.
Swords were clashed and magic was cast, upon the battlefield that's size was vast.
In the end Shantotto had won, she laughed and chuckled, "Oh that was so much fun!"

That was way more fun that I thought it would be to write. It's like Haikus for FFXI players!

They actually did a pretty good job doing her voice imo. She sounds like a pretentious twat, which is what she is!

You guys are way to critical. Compared to the other voices in this game Shantotto is easily the best.

I think we were all expecting some kind of high pitched/squeaky or childish voice. Similar to how those taru sound after casting meteor on Behemoth then running away screaming in the opening CS

I actually really like her english VA. It is very fitting considering her rather snobby nature!

She doesn't do a bad job~ I'm actually quite content with her voice.
